Oneika Raymond is an Emmy award-winning journalist, speaker, & television host whose mission is to educate, empower, & encourage exploration.
As an Emmy award-winning NBC New York Live correspondent, Expedia ambassador, Travel Channel on-camera talent, and host/producer of Marriott Bonvoy‘s travel show ‘About the Journey’, Oneika inspires us to live our best lives at home and abroad. A bona fide explorer and expat keen to share her insights from around the world, Oneika has made countless appearances on broadcast outlets such as CNN, CBS, ABC, CGTN, and CTV as an on-air expert. Her global adventures have taken her to over 120 countries on 6 continents.
Dedicated to amplifying under-represented voices and destinations, Oneika pitched, produced, and hosted over 50 television segments featuring BIPOC businesses, entrepreneurs, and initiatives for NBC New York Live, and in 2020 won a New York Emmy for her work on the show.
In addition, Oneika is an accomplished writer with more than a decade of digital and print media experience. Her work has appeared in a wide range of publications, including Condé Nast Traveler, Oprah Magazine, Ebony Magazine, and Marriott Bonvoy Traveler.
She is also the voice behind the highly respected OneikaTheTraveller.com, where her articles examine travel and exploration through the intersections of race, politics, and privilege. In 2018, the site won a Gold Medal for Best Travel Blog in the prestigious SATW Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism Competition.
A fierce supporter of women who travel, Oneika’s given keynote speeches at the Women in Travel Summit and at Women’s Travel Fest. In 2019, Oneika was named Wanderful’s Creator of the Year, and in 2017, she was honored with a Voices of the Year (VOTY) award at BlogHer, one of the premier conferences for women in digital media.
Oneika has worked as a spokesperson, ambassador, and on-camera talent for global brands such as Expedia, Home Goods, Hyundai, American Express, Toyota, Coca-Cola, Sony, Dove, Dunkin Donuts, and Lowe’s. She has also been profiled in outlets including the BBC, Forbes, The Washington Post, New York Magazine, The Associated Press, Condé Nast Traveler, and The Independent.
A highly sought-after orator and educator, Oneika speaks on stages around the world about travel, exploration, storytelling, digital marketing, and branding. Whether she’s a keynote speaker, workshop leader, panelist, emcee, or moderator, Oneika is guaranteed to stimulate discussion and engage crowds. A thrill-seeker who’s always in the midst of planning her next trip, Oneika’s goal is to inspire others to live life outside of their comfort zone. As such, Oneika has bungee jumped over the Zambezi River, fished for piranhas in the Amazon, and climbed active volcanoes in Guatemala, Indonesia, and Ecuador. She’s also run a marathon at Walt Disney World, gone gorilla trekking in Uganda, and camped in a snowstorm at 13,000 feet above sea level in Bhutan.
Oneika is a former secondary school teacher who holds an M.Ed in French Education from Eastern University and Université de Nice, France. A lifelong learner who is also an aspiring polyglot, Oneika speaks fluent English, French, and Spanish, and is currently learning German.
